I had an RDO today & managed to coax a couple of mates to bring their Kayaks to Lake Barrington.
We peddled or paddled about 14Ks for the day & got this.
About 80cm of Brown Trout that went 3.2Kgs gutted.
When we got back to our launch point we caught up with some other fishos in their power boat & they reckon it would have to be one of the biggest brown trout they had seen.

The dial thingy with string on? What is it? Between the fishes SPAM fin and the tas devil. Am a nosey bugger. Nice fish looks a bit skinny Wonder what it woulda weighed witha bit more meat on it. Am coming to Tas for a week in November or so. Leave a few for me.
Cheers John.
LMAO the filter decided the fishes A-N_AL fin was rude

Duh! Stupid me! I didn't even see it the first time. I was too busy looking at how big the fish was! Thanks.PiratePete wrote:With the orange lure in the bottom of the boat. A tassie devil.

Yes it is very slabby & it would have been a monster if it was in good nick. It also had a bent back & some big scars as well. I dont know how old they get but this one must be up there with the oldest of them.

Is this the same fish that we call a brown trout in the US?
