Went to the lease yesterday afternoon. Been having lots of squirrels, coons and hogs eating corn so I thought I would try and do a little thinning out. Got to the stand and poured and bag of corn around the feeder. The coons were a no show but everything else was right on schedule.
Then the hogs showed up.

Nice shooting! What do you do with the squirrels? Skin 'em? eat 'em?

Excellent. How do you cook the squirrels? Sometimes when we run down a mob of piglets we'll bring some back and keep them in a pen for a few days to clean out (depending on how big they are- if still on mostly milk diet, no need to bother) and then knock on the head, skin, gut and split down the brisket and into a baking tray in the oven. Tasty little suckers (pardon the pun) with just a bit of salt and pepper.
