On John's point, I believe the greatest risk is with the rack coming off the vehicle so always have a bow rope going to the front bumper or tow hook.

Mick, did you paddle on Cooper Creek?

...and will there be a trip report?

Not to hijack this thread (too much) :mrgreen: Yep, we paddled the Cooper, Strzelecki, Diamantina and Lake Houdraman. Will do a trip report soon. Bloody dying to get back out there. A quick piccie,
