My plans arrived today. (thanks Matt) The shed is clean (sort of) The tools are sharp and I am busting to get started on this one. Will start posting piccies soon.
Got most of the panels cut & trimmed, started butt jointing yesterday.
The strongback is allmost set up. Will check the measurements on this today, do some more butt jointing and hopefully take a couple of piccies.
I build my boats a little differently to as described in the build instructions. I find it easier when handling the long thin panels on my own and it works for me. I like to use a strong back to hold everything rigid and in place. A bit more work but I find it easier in the long run.
Strongback is complete, Temp panels are cut and on and checked.
Hull panels are butted together. Waiting for the wood flour to cure before re-inforcing with fibreglass.
Been away for a couple of weeks, Finally finished butt jointing the hull panels today. Hope to start stitching them together this week end.
Will post some piccies when I have something to show.
Mick,
it looks great! The hull shape really looks beautiful! Is that tape you've got on there to keep the epoxy/sawdust material off the hull when you tack weld? Will you wait until you've got it off the strongback to put on the last panel that tilts inward?
The tape is only masking tape to protect my "Blonde" ply from getting stained from the wood flour. Mate, I will be puting all the hull panels and finishing the outside fibreglassing before I take her off the strong back
I spent 10 hours on her today. Got all the hull panels stitched and trued up. Also got the entire hull tacked. Took a few more piccies and will post them after I get cleaned up.
